Background:
Fordham University is a private, not-for-profit educational institution and research university in New York City. It was founded in 1841 and has provided faculty for the Beijing International MBA at Peking University since 1998. This program has been ranked number 1 in China by Fortune and Forbes Magazines.
This collaboration between Fordham University and USTC will be done through the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham.
Program Overview:
The purpose of this 1+1 Program is to encourage visits by faculty and students from one university to the other for the purpose of engaging in research and education, facilitate the admission of qualified students from one university to the other for the purpose of enrolling in undergraduate and graduate programs (and in the case of advanced graduate students, participating in research), and foster the exchange of academic publications and scholarly information.
USTC will collaborate with the Gabelli School of Business (GSB) to allow qualified students studying at USTC to study one year at GSB. In the first year of study at USTC, students will be in an MBA or MS program. Starting their second year, they can enrol in GSB's Master of Science in Global Finance program. In the third year of study, students will return to USTC to complete their USTC degree.
Am I Qualified?
GSB will make admission decisions on USTC applicants based on Fordham University and GSB admission criteria as well as on recommendations from USTC. Each program has its own specific curriculum and requirements. Students must complete the requirements of each program in order to graduate with a master's degree from GSB.
USTC will select qualified students as nominees to enter a master's degree course at GSB. In principle, qualified students from all USTC faculties are eligible to apply. GSB and individual programs will examine the qualifications of the recommended students and accept recommended USTC students who meet GSB and individual program admission criteria.
Note: participants will be selected based on merit without regard to race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status or physical handicap. GSB will accept the participants selected by USTC if mutually acceptable academic qualifications and standards are met.
Tuition and Fees:
The application fee for study at GSB will be waived for students from USTC but students will still pay tuition and fees directly to GSB according to semesters of study and credits taken there.
For room and board, GSB will offer limited assistance to USTC students in locating appropriate accommodations but cannot guarantee such accommodations. All accommodation and living costs are to be paid by the students.
All other expenses required or incurred for the purpose of taking part in this program will be the responsibility of each student concerned. Such expenses include but are not limited to:
