Background
The Stevens Institute of Technology is a private research university in Hoboken, New Jersey. Incorporated in 1870, it is one of the oldest technological universities in the United States and was the first college in America solely dedicated to mechanical engineering.
Program Outline
In this Coordinated Academic Program, students would receive separate degrees in the form of a Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science from USTC after completing a program of approximately four years and a Master of Science from SIT after completing a program of approximately one year.
In total, after approximately five years, students who have successfully completed this Coordinated Academic Program will have a bachelor's degree in either Engineering or Science from USTC as well as a master's degree in Science from SIT.
Students will apply to SIT for admission to this program during their third year of study at USTC. SIT will consider students for admission in accordance with SIT policies.
In their final year of study at USTC, students will take up to three classes offered by USTC for an SIT MS program with 30 credits, or up to four graduate classes offered by USTC for an SIT MS program of more than 30 credits, in each case which are consistent with their planned program of graduate study at SIT. Students must successfully complete each class by achieving a grade of at least“B” (equivalent to 75 out of 100 at USTC) to be eligible for transfer credit to SIT.
After USTC, accepted students will transfer to SIT where they will spend one yearcompleting no fewer than seven additional courses in order to fulfil therequirements of the master’s degree for one of the programs at SIT.
Am I Qualified?
USTC shall nominate USTC students for admission to SIT for the Coordinated Program. USTCwill supply the SIT Office of Graduate Admissions with a list of theprospective students’ names and email addresses before the students begin the application process on the SIT Graduate Admissions website. Prospective students will need to complete their application on the Graduate Admissions website by March 31st for those students applying for the Fall Semester, and October 15th for those students applying for the Spring Semester.
The admissions requirements for students to attend the SIT MS program are the same as those for students regularly admitted to other SIT graduate programs. Such requirements will include:
1. Obtaining official transcripts
2. Letters of recommendation from faculty
3. A CV or résumé
4. GRE or GMAT scores
5. Undergraduate GPA of3.1 (equivalent to 81 out of 100 at USTC) or above
All non-native English-speaking students who apply to the SIT MS Program will be required to achieve a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOFEL) score of at least 86 on the IBT (Internet Based TOFEL); or a score of at least 7 on the IELTS: in each case as part of the admissions approval process at SIT. Applicants who do not meet this English language requirements but received a TOEFL score above 74 may be considered for admission into the coordinated program. If these applicants are admitted. SIT will enrol them in English Language Communications (ELC) course(s) during their first semester upon arrival on-campus.
All international students must obtain a student visa to study in the U.S.A. USTC will use all reasonable efforts to support its students in preparing to apply for and applying for the necessary visas to participate in the Coordinated Program. SIT will provide accepted students with formal letters of admission and other such routine documentation as may be necessary to satisfy any visa or other similar requirements.

There are three semesters offered in an academic year: at SIT, the fall semester usually runs between the end of August and the end of December. The spring semester usually runs between the middle of January and the middle of May. The summer A term usually runs between middle of May and middle of July.
Master of Financial Engineering
To receive the MS in Financial Engineering, a student must successfully complete 30 credits as follows: three courses (amounting to 9 credits) in Part 1 of the Coordinated Program delivered at USTC and 21 credits (seven or more courses) in Part 2 of the Coordinated Program delivered at SIT. While at SIT, in order to maintain the full-time status, a student must take a minimum of 9 credits per semester. Normally, a student will take between 9 and 12 credits per semester,and therefore, the 21 credits at SIT can normally be completed in two or three semesters, depending on the workload that the student takes and their knowledge of English.

Master of Finance

While at SIT, in order to maintain the full-time status, a student must take a minimum of 9 credits per semester. Normally, a student will take between 9 and 12 credits per semester, and therefore, the 24 credits at SIT can normally be completed in two or three semesters, depending on the workload that the student takes and their knowledge of English.
The Master of Finance program presumes that students have studied the following subjects during their undergraduate studies:

Students that have not completed these subjects during their undergraduate studies will follow a study plan that includes these subjects.

While at SIT, in order to maintain the full-time status, a student must take a minimum of 9 credits per semester. Normally, a student will take between 9 and 12 credits per semester, and therefore, the 36 credits at SIT can normally be completed in three or four semesters, depending on the workload that the student takes and their knowledge of English.
